Sweet Tarts & Pies
Can you believe we’ve been at this for a year now? One down, one to go.
For this section we will be getting back to sweets — sweet tarts and pies, to be exact. There are a lot of recipes to choose from, and a lot of blogs to be written. There are 3 dough recipes, each of which will have its own blog post, as well as 9 tart recipes, 5 pie recipes (three of which are apple — yay!), and 3 tartlet recipes. That’s 20 recipes to be claimed.
Because there are so many recipes in this section, you are free to claim one or two to begin with. After a week or so, anyone will be able to claim any remaining recipes.
I don’t know about you, but even though I enjoyed the savory tarts and pies, I’m ready for some sweet stuff!
Oh, and if you want to know if a particular recipe has been claimed yet, click on the link to the right to see if anyone’s name shows up for that post. Or click the About tab above and scroll down to this section.
Update: I decided to add an extra month to the timeframe for this section. The previous sections mostly had 15 recipes, and we baked from those sections for three months, so you’d have to bake an average of five recipes per month to bake them all. Since this section has 20 recipes, we can keep the same five-per-month pace by allotting four months to the recipes in this section. Besides, I gather from many of you that you’d like to bake most of the recipes from this section but don’t want to have two tarts around the house all the time for three months.

I’d love to claim the Breton apple pie but since I failed on the ham tart, will you let me?
Absolutely. Consider it yours. (There are no failures here; sometimes life gets in the way.)
Since no one else has claimed it yet, I’m going to take the Banana Walnut Tart.
Update: here are the recipes left to claim –
*

* Press-in cookie dough
*
Bourbon-scented pecan tart*

Never mind, just saw my name in the mango & rice tart section.
Just to get it right: do I have the Lemon Lime Tarlets AND the Mango & Rice Tart?
Wowow, this is so fast and i still have to catch up , sorry
And i will.
Well i was looking at lemon tarts as well
Ok i take the blueberry crumble pie and Maida’s big apple pie, if nobody takes it ie
Wonderful day to all u lovely fellow bakers at Modern bakers challenge.
OK, Mia. Maida’s big apple pie is yours. I will be making all of the apple pie recipes, as it is my favorite.
Blueberry crumble pie, please! Have also made fruit tarts, choc hazelnut, and Maida’s apple, if you need any extra ones filled in…..
Sounds like a plan. Let me know when you’re going to do the blueberry pie and I’ll bake along with you. I love blueberry!!
Did not see this when i came earlier:-(
But am excited , coz i would loveee to join u two in baking this pie too , its fun baking together
Lookinh forward.
I made and posted the Chocolate hazelnut tart last July. Might want to do the pine nut tart but afraid to claim as I am afraid I’ll never get around to posting… Or the neapolitan tart but not sure I can find white wheat berries!
OK. I used your post for the choc hazelnut tart. If you want another one, let me know.
I’ll do the Bittersweet Chocolate Tart. I might do another but I’ll wait and see what else doesn’t get taken. As it is I’ve joined some friends in NO SUGAR until Easter so I’ll be sitting out a month of this challenge anyway.
No sugar?!?!?!?
Seemed like a good idea a few days ago….. I’m trying to be strong. It’s just no desserts and no soda. Trying to break some habits.
OK, it’s yours.
OK, so now Andrea has the Lemon Lime Tartlets and Kayte will do the Roman Almond and Pine Nut Tart.
Can I have the Chocolate Caramel Pecan Tartlets?
Soitenly!
Kayte will be baking Lemony Cheese Tart and Lemon Lime Tartlets.
And I’m going to do the Pumpkin Pecan Tart.
I already made the Parisian Fruit Tarts and the Chocolate Orange Hazelnut Tart, so feel free to use my posts if nobosy claims them. I’d like to claim the Lemony Cheese Tart and the Mango & Rice Tart.
Opps, Kayte already grabbed the lemony cheese tart via e-mail & I forgot to add a comment here. Is there another one you want?
was about to claim the lemon lime tartlets and then saw that Kayte has those ones, too
. OK, so mango & rice tart and the sour- cream apple pie.
Kayte said she’d give the lemon lime tartlets up, so they’re yours!
